My interest in Play is in the realisation of improved creativity and innovation, primarily in the workplace. However, one cannot avoid discussing both the importance of and decline in Play, with regards to children, if you’re going to describe the context we currently find ourselves within.

When it comes to children, play and education then you’re also going to have to engage with Peter Gray. I’ve embedded a Tedx video of Peter Gray below. It will require a worthwhile 16 min of your time to watch it, but be warned, it’ll take you several weeks, perhaps months, to digest the significance of what he’s suggesting.

There’s a sentence, just past the halfway mark, that leaves me feeling ashamed as a parent, a world citizen, and as a human being….
