Everyone knows, or should know TED? It’s my favourite online resource. Packed not only with amazing diversity of topics with a future slant, but occasionally a superb speaker is featured, who’s worth letting the world know about. In that light, I figured it may be useful, from time to time, to post one of my TED video picks every from time to time.
Ian Goldin – Navigating our Global Future
Ian Goldin, born in South Africa, is described on Wikipedia as:
Dr Goldin is currently Director of the James Martin 21st Century School at the University of Oxford. Goldin was previously Vice President of the World Bank (2003–2006) and, prior to that, the Bank’s Director of Development Policy (2001–2003).
TED describes his talk:
As globalization and technological advances bring us hurtling towards a new integrated future, Ian Goldin warns that not all people may benefit equally. But, he says, if we can recognize this danger, we might yet realize the possibility of improved life for everyone.
I love his 10 minutes at TED. A look at the next 20 years, what we can expect and the challenges we face. He does a fantastic job packing a large amount on information and thought into such a small time frame.
